Billed as The European Coffee House, there is definitely the European feel when you enter Caffe Nero Boston. There are booths, leather chairs, bookcases and a fireplace. There are furnishings and curios from Holland, Belgium, France and Italy. The place has charm and a good location in downtown Boston. While the coffee is good, by American standards, it is not great. There seems to be a little lack of organization at this café where all of the people taking the orders are making the coffee. There should be a dedicated and trained barista, who really takes this coffee to the level that it should be.
Regardless, it has a very nice atmosphere and certainly draws the people. There are many students from Harvard University working hard, and there are people coming from a run because it is Boston after all. There are families and couples. All in all, Caffe Nero, is a nice little coffee shop for the atmosphere. They perhaps could and should raise the bar a bit with the coffee and the service organization.
