The Thinking Cup Boston serves Stumptown Coffee. It is supplied directly from Brooklyn where the beans are roasted. Stumptown was seen as the new wave of good coffee in the USA. However, good coffee and the USA do not have a good relationship. For want of not drinking anymore brewed to within an inch of its life coffee, The Thinking Cup offers a reasonable coffee. Not a good coffee, but in US terms a reasonable cup.
Where The Think Cup does shine, is that it has some character and seems to attract many locals. In fairness, I am from Australia, and we are coffee snobs. In fairness, I have been drinking terrible coffee in the US, so in many respects, something with a little bit of flavour like the Stumptown Coffee will have me a little happier. It is ironic isn’t it. The Boston Tea Party of 1773, destroyed an entire shipment of tea, and they turned to coffee, but not good coffee. Oh, the irony.
